Salon Owner - Wella colour expert – @hairby_kerryknott & @theknott_hairandbeauty

With over 20 years of salon experience, I finally brought my dream to life: creating a beautiful, welcoming space where guests feel at home and our team feels inspired.

At The Knott, every team member is carefully chosen for their talent, creativity, and professionalism. Together, we’ve built something I’m truly proud of.

Hairdressing has been my passion since day one, and I’ve loved every moment of the journey. I specialise in cutting curly hair, helping clients embrace their natural texture—and I love using razor techniques to add movement and texture to straight hair.

I’m always evolving, whether through training, exploring new techniques, or staying ahead in this ever-changing industry. Recently, I achieved my Wella Colour Expert qualification with Distinction, a milestone I’m incredibly proud of.

Some career highlights include winning Redken’s Talent Tribe (2013), working at London Fashion Week (2022), and being awarded Best Hair & Beauty Salon in Kent and the Southeast. I’ve also always had a love for creative photoshoots, something I now enjoy even more with my amazing team.

Lisa enjoys the creative side of hairdressing, photoshoots, entering competitions, and constantly exploring new techniques. She is now a Wella Colour Expert, having successfully completed the prestigious programme with Distinction, and has completed numerous other advanced colour courses to refine her craft.

Alongside her colour expertise, Lisa is an amazing precision cutting specialist, known for her attention to detail and ability to create clean, tailored shapes that enhance each client’s individual style.

She has a real passion for colour correction work and thrives on the challenge of transforming complex colours using her technical knowledge and creative vision.

Career highlights so far include winning the L'Oréal Colour Trophy Young Colourist Award, being a regional finalist for Wella TrendVision four years running, and reaching the UK finals in 2016.

A sylist of 10+ years in the industry my priority is always to make sure my guest feels the best version of themselves , i do this by offering all aspects of hair aswell as gel nails for the ultimate pampering experience.

I am highley influenced by social media and current trends and hope to leave any aged guest feeling a little more youthful or fashionable!

I love attending courses to keep learning and at The Knott im looking forward to expanding my knowledge in a forever changing industry!

Stylist and L'Oréal Colour Specialist

Mary Ann loves everything about colour and being creative. She says, "I really enjoy taking part in competitions and getting stuck into creative projects like photo shoots."

Her biggest career achievement so far has been completing the L'Oréal Colour Specialist course. "It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done," she says, "but it was so worth it!"

Meet Megan  @meganswallowhairx

Megan is currently in her second year of her Level 2 NVQ in Hairdressing and is well on her way to qualifying as a fully-fledged stylist. Her passion for hairdressing shines through in everything she does, and she has quickly developed a reputation for her incredible talent in hair up and plaiting styles. Whether it’s intricate braids or elegant updos, she has a natural flair for creating beautiful, detailed looks that her clients love.

As she continues her training, Megan is always eager to learn new skills and techniques, making her a valuable member of our team. With her dedication and creativity, we know she has an exciting future ahead in the hairdressing industry!

Claire came to the salon to bravely change careers, which she has successeded to do over the last couple of years smashing her qualifications out the park! 

she doesn't want to stop there either as she has ambitions to carry on to get her qualifications to do sports therapy eventually!

Beauty Therapist & CACI Advanced specialist - @buttonbeauty_theknott

Debby has been in the beauty industry for 15 years and has an NVQ level 4. Massage she does everything From deep tissue, to an aromatherapy relaxing massage, 

For the past 10 years Debby has been an advanced CACI therapist specialising in non surgical face and body treatments.

I'm Natalie, a trained nurse and medical aesthetician

With over 30+ years experience in nursing, my goal is to enhance your looks with either neuromodulators (anti-wrinkle medication), hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, skin boosters and fat dissolution. I also offer longevity and wellness coaching, to help keep your body, skin and looks from succumbing to the effects of ageing.

As a 'woman of a certain age' myself, I can relate to how a subtle aesthetic procedure can give your skin and mood a boost! I provide treatments that look natural, leaving you looking a little brighter, a little fresher, a little happier and possibly even a bit younger.

Trained by Derma Medical in London, I worked at the Dermatology Department at USFMA in the USA, and am now qualified to administer Advanced Anti-Wrinkle and Dermal Fillers in Folkestone, From The Knott Hair and beauty.

1st year apprentice

After months of searching for the perfect fit (everyone knows how picky I am!), we’ve finally found our new apprentice – the lovely Sophie!

Sophie joined us through a traineeship, spending three days a week at college and two days with us for work experience over 12 weeks. By the end of it, we knew we’d found a keeper!

Toby is a passionate, self-employed make-up artist with a true love for the art of make-up and making people feel beautiful. Whether it’s for a special occasion, a photoshoot, or simply a day when you want to feel your best, Toby’s expertise and creativity will leave you feeling flawless and confident.

Although Toby operates independently, we’re always happy to call them in to meet all of your make-up needs. With a keen eye for detail and a deep passion for enhancing natural beauty, Toby is your go-to artist for any look you desire!
